The Annual Photo Show is the premier print competition of the year. It culminates in late May or early June with an exhibition at the prestigious Kootenay Gallery in Castlegar. The event consistently draws large crowds and local media attention.
Qualified judges from photo clubs in BC and the US are invited to judge photo print entries. The club hosts a much anticipated celebration to honour all participants, judges and committees for their dedicated efforts in making the photo show a continued success.
The Annual Photo Show Salon originated in 1991. There were three categories, 21 participants and 73 entries. In 1996 it was renamed to the Annual Photo Show. The number of categories has grown to ten with a steadily increasing number of entries, recently topping 300.
